HT5_uVtn-1The way you present your products has a direct effect on the sale of your product and your Vinder success! Bad photos can erode consumers’ trust and could send them fleeing. Great photos of a product can move that product quickly. Fortunately, there are a few simple tricks that can get you started on better photos right away.

I’ll show you, in eight simple steps, how to get started on great product photography and improve your Vinder store’s look and performance.

Make sure product is there and centered, keep an eye out to eliminate distracting backdrops. If you are taking pictures of an apple, focus on the apple, and not on the tree for example. Light can make or break your shot. Watch for shadows and light flares. Zoom in, and make sure the product is in focus.

Some things to watch out for:

  • Dust, fingerprints, or smudges on your products or backgrounds
  • Stray objects in the corner of the picture
  • Not focusing the lens properly on the subject
  • Camera shake and vibration
  • Low light levels (leading to high ISO, slow shutter speed and bad image quality)
  • Pay Attention to Shadows

Avoid harsh back lighting and other setups that cast shadows on the surface of the object. Keep the lights on the same side of the object as your camera, or slightly off to one side.
